Valerie Brandy is a storyteller and strategist whose work spans film, publishing, and digital marketing. Described by The Huffington Post as “unflinching,” she has built a career creating narratives that resonate across screens and platforms—whether through award-winning films, viral marketing campaigns, or best-selling books.

In the marketing space, Brandy has led social campaigns for major entertainment projects and served as social media manager for an Academy Award–winning actress. Brandy developed original content under an exclusive deal with Walt Disney Studios, working with both their legacy IP and new properties. Brandy wrote and produced the indie feature Lola’s Last Letter (Sony Pictures), spreaheading the film's anonymous apologies campaign, which went viral upon release. Skilled at evaluating core KPIs and driving growth through both paid and organic advertising, she co-founded Emerald Lion Press, a publishing company that sells books and audiobooks in seven countries through direct-to-consumer marketing. A #1 Amazon best-selling author in cozy mystery, she combines creative storytelling with data-driven strategy. The books have topped the mystery charts thanks to Brandy's brand-building, even surpassing JK Rowling's mystery pen name for the #1 slot. Brandy worked with Humongous Entertainment-- which has sold over $100 million of IP worldwide-- to market their video games across multiple platforms in new formats, including film, television, and cross-media presentations. Brandy specializes in managing and overseeing video and graphic creation using Adobe, FinalCut, and more.

An experienced educator, she has taught at Loyola Marymount University’s Top 5 Film Program, UCLA Extension, Syracuse University’s LA Immersion Program, and BadPitch. She holds an MFA in Film & Television, a BA in Mass Communications from UCLA, and a Digital Marketing Certificate from UCLA.

Whether developing a feature film, scaling a publishing brand, or leading digital strategy, Brandy brings a rare combination of creativity, leadership, and results-driven vision.
